Heartland Music Fest

Saturday, May 12, 2018 (This is a required event)

Additional information will be provided in April when we receive more details from the contest administration

The 7th grade bands will be traveling to the OKC area for the Heartland Music Festival.  We will be performing at contest in the morning and then spending the rest of the day at Frontier City Amusement Park. Bus transportation will be provided and this will be an all day event.  (early AM to Late PM)

Students must be eligible (grade of 60% or higher in all classes) in order to participate. Students must also be in good standing in class with Mr. Sherin & Mr. Stevenson.  Those who are deemed unworthy based on behavior and participation in class will not be allowed to attend the event.

Date/Time:        Saturday, May 12, 2018.  Early AM to Late PM (All day event)

Transportation:    Students will travel on buses with the band.

Cost:    $50 
    This includes:  Band T-Shirt, Contest Entry Fee, Amusement Park entrance, and Lunch

    Cash - exact change in envelope with name 
    or Check - made out to Jenks Band #986

Attire:    Jenks 7th grade band t-shirt (purchased with trip cost), athletic shoes, and shorts/pants (school appropriate)

Chaperones:    If you are interested in being a chaperone, we are in need of about 10 volunteers to join us on the trip.  
    Cost will be $30 (includes lunch and park admission).

Trip Fee:  $45 Due Wed. May 10th. Please bring cash (Exact Change) in an envelope with your name or a check made out to Jenks Band #986

Chaperones:  We have plenty of chaperones now.  Thank you!

Email Mr. Sherin by Thursday, May 4th if you are interested in chaperoning.  Cost will be $35.  Chaperones will ride the bus with the band.  (You may write one check for both you and your student)

        *Fees will cover Contest Fee, Amusement Park Entry, and Lunch.

Contest Performances are open to the public, free of charge.

Performance:               9:40           5th Hour Warm Up

                                      10: 00        5th Hour Performance

                                      10:20         6th Hour Warm Up

                                      10:40         6th Hour Performance

Load/Depart PCN:        11:15         to Frontier City

Lunch:                           11:45         Inside Frontier City

Awards:                         5:00pm      Inside Frontier City - Concert Arena

(Dinner will not be provided.  Eat when you return or at the park on your own)
