Jenks Band

The show performance costume does not include a hat, therefore it is necessary for all performers to have their hair done in a uniform manner, allowing for maximum performance. The show hair tutorial is scheduled for Tuesday, August 5th from 9:00am - 10:00am in the PEG Gym.

All students new to HS Band are required to attend this tutorial. Veteran Band members may come, review, and help out, but are not required to attend. The session begins for everyone at 9:00am. It is important that all our students have the same look with hair to add to the effectiveness of our show. We work hard to make sure everyone knows exactly how to accomplish this look. Please make sure you have all the necessary items for the tutorial. Below are the materials needed for the tutorial as well as examples for different lengths of hair.

Students with long or medium hair need the following items for the hair tutorial:

Hair ties (at least 4) that match, or are very close to, the students hair color
Sock Bun
Small, clear elastic hair ties – 1 pack per student
Bobbie pins, A LOT OF BOBBIE PINS! At least 1 large pack per student
Hair brush
Comb
Hairspray, VERY strong hold
Gel, VERY strong hold
Small spray water bottle (to wet hair)
Towel (to wipe gel off hands)
Hand held mirror (bigger than a compact)

Students with short hair (not long enough to go into a ponytail, i.e. gentlemen) need the following items for the hair tutorial:

Bobbie pins, at least 1 large pack per student
Hair brush
Comb
Hairspray, VERY strong hold
Gel, VERY strong hold
Small spray water bottle (to wet hair)
Towel (to wipe gel off hands)
Hand held mirror (bigger than a compact)

Below are pictures of the products needed for the tutorial. The type of gel/hairspray you decide to purchase is completely up to you but through the years we have discovered that the cheaper gel/hairsprays tend to hold the best for these looks.
