New Music Building & Pre-Band

Good evening everyone. Final inspections were not completed this weekend so it has been necessary to find alternate locations to rehearse until the building is available. To begin rehearsal Monday morning, everyone needs to meet in the PAC (where we have our concerts). at 8:00 AM. After brief introductions and initial instructions, we will head to the stadium and begin marching fundamentals.

During sectionals, we will be spread out in the PAC, old choir rooms, old band rooms, student union, and PEG gyms. These are really not our buildings, so we must be extra respectful of someone else's facilities. We will not have proper storage for instruments until the new building is available either. It will be important to keep track of items so that they do not get lost or stolen. Remember to bring all supplies that will be needed (binder, page savers, pencil, reeds, oils, hat, proper shoes) and plenty of water!

Be ready to be flexible and to work hard. See you in the morning. Jenks Band!

There are a couple of final inspections remaining before students will be allowed in the new music building for rehearsals. Make sure and check the website Sunday evening (July 29th) for important information about rehearsals on Monday. Info will include possible changes in location for inside rehearsals. Outside rehearsals will remain as scheduled.
The job trailer was removed and the remainder of the parking lot was paved and lined at the end of last week. This week, a great deal of equipment is being delivered and installed. Items include new music stands and carts, as well as the music lockers that will be in the hallways. To see the most recent pictures of the inside, visit the Jenks Trojan Pride Facebook Page.
Construction on the new Fine Arts Facility continues to make progress. The new facility will include three rehearsal rooms - one for each concert band, several practice rooms, band parent storage room, color guard equipment and storage room, uniform storage room, percussion storage room, instrument storage room, a music library, as well as offices for the band staff.

The facility also includes a larger bathroom suitable for students to change clothes after marching rehearsal and individual lockers for instruments.

The construction is scheduled to be finished in early August and be in use by the time school begins.
