Jenks Hosts OKPAS Percussion Festival

The Jenks High School Band will be hosting the Oklahoma Percussive Arts Society "Day of Percussion" Festival on April 5-6.  Fifteen high school and nine university percussion ensembles are scheduled to perform.  The festival will include both instructional and performance time. The Caixa Trio will be our featured guest artists, presenting clinics on rudimental, Brazilian and African drumming, as well as performing in concert on Saturday evening, 7:30 pm in the Jenks PAC. Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased at the door. Performances are also scheduled for Thursday and Friday evenings. The first recital - featuring Jenks percussion ensemble from East and West Intermediates, Middle School, and High School - will be Thursday, April 4th, 7:00pm in the Jenks PAC. It is open and free to the public. The Jenks HS percussion ensemble will again be performing on Friday evening and it is free and open to the public as well.
